Kendrick Lamar Tops Grammy Nominations

Compton hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar leads this year’s Grammy nominations with 11 total, including a nod for album of the year. Lamar’s 2015 album joins works from Alabama Shakes, Chris Stapleton, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd, all vying for the top spot at the 58th annual Grammy Awards Show.

Lamar was also nominated for:

  • Best Rap Album: To Pimp a Butterfly
  • Song of the Year: Alright
  • Best Rap Performance: Alright
  • Best Music Video: Alright
  • Best Rap Song: Alright
  • Best Rap Song: All Day
  • Best Rap Song/Collaboration: These Walls
  • Best Dance Recording: Never Catch Me (with Flying Lotus)
  • Best Pop Duo/Group Performance: Bad Blood (with Taylor Swift)
  • Best Music Video: Bad Blood (with Taylor Swift)

Lamar won two previous Grammy Awards. At last year’s ceremony, he took home the Gramophone trophy for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for his 2014 hit i.

The awards show will take place February 15.

His 11 Grammy nominations cap a big year. Late last year, Lamar signed a deal with Reebok, promoting a collaboration for the classic Ventilator.
